It was built between 1921 and 1924 for Queen Mary, consort of King George V and is the largest and most famous dolls’ house in the world. The House is made to be as realistic as possible which means it also includes electricity, running water and working lifts. Each room is beautifully furnished.

St GEORGE’S CHAPEL
Similar to the Westminster Abbey, St George’s Chapel is a popular place for royal weddings and burials. Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb is also located inside here. It is a masterpiece of beautiful architecture and intricate stonework. The Chapel closes at 4:15 pm (last entry at 4:00 pm) to prepare for evening church services. Photography is not allowed.
CHANGING OF THE GUARD
Watching the iconic Chaning of the Guard Ceremony is surely a highlight while visiting Windsor Castle. This century old tradition takes place daily depending on the weather conditions. It takes place just before 11am and lasting about 45 minutes. You need an entry ticket to Windsor Castle to watch this ceremony as it starts from inside the Castle in the open area between the Henry VIII Gateway and St. George’s Chapel. The guards then exit through the Henry VIII Gateway.
If you don’t want to spend so much time for this ceremony, then you can just watch it at the exit time and then proceed ahead to enter the Castle. This saves a lot of time in case you are looking to visit Stonehenge and Bath as a day trip.
EXPLORING THE GROUNDS & LONG WALK
The Long Walk is a 2.6 mile path and one of the best places to get great views of the Castle.
