We recently had been to Berlin, Germany and we had the amazing opportunity to stay at one the best modern 4 star-hotel located in the heart of Berlin, Mercure Hotel Berlin Wittenbergplatz.

If you are looking for where to stay in Berlin which is conveniently located with excellent bus and metro connections, then we would definitely recommend staying at Mercure Hotel. It is also close to many museums and attractions like the Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island and the Reichstag building making it an excellent base for your Berlin travels. Here is the breakdown of our stay.

Rooms with a View

The entrance of the hotel instantly impressed us with its trendy design and ambience. It has an exclusive fashion and lifestyle theme interiors. We were greeted with smile by the friendly staff and immediately had us checked in. We stayed in a balcony room with a queen sized bed. The balcony was huge overlooking the Wittenbergplatz & amazing panoramic city skyline view and the famous KaDeWe department store nearby.

The room was really spacious with large windows to the balcony. The fashion style interiors was also seen in the rooms with colours, bold patterns and sleek furniture. We were greeted with a hand-written note and a special biscuits & complimentary drinks which was adorable! The room also had free Wi-fi, minibar, coffee machine and a work desk, making it a perfect stay for relaxation and work travels. The bathroom was spacious, well lit and had high quality linens with ofcourse complimentary toiletries.

Amenities

The hotel features range of amenities for all kinds of travellers. The loby area is well decorated and designed with seating arrangements, where you can relax after a long day of touring the city or just meeting with friends. It also has a bar section with local wine and beer options available for unwinding. The hotel doesn’t have a gym option, but it wasn’t a deal breaker for us as we were on a short trip to Berlin. Also being so well located, it is just few steps away from shopping spots like KaDeWe and Kurfürstendamm street. KaDeWe is known for its exclusive boutiques, luxury brands and high end restaurants.

Breakfast: Great Start to the Day

The next day breakfast was truly a feast! Breakfast is served in their dining area which has an open space as well with variety of options for all preferences. There was freshly baked breads and pastries, cheese selection, salamis, fresh fruits, yoghurt, barista-quality coffee and multiple cereal choices.

Freshly squeezed juices are also available along with hot breakfast such scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. We loved the overall food presentation and also its freshness. The staff was very attentive, friendly and regularly checking in if everything was to our satisfaction or not.
